Treat yourself and support NAAFA in this Month of Celebration of All Things Fat!

At NAAFA we fight for fat rights, oppose discrimination in all forms, invest in intersectional fat community, and brazenly celebrate fat joy! This Fat Liberation Month, the celebration includes our first-ever virtual auction to raise money to support our life-changing work on behalf of fat people everywhere! 

We are thrilled to introduce you to the fat and fat-allied folks who have donated items for this auction! The fine print on how the auction works is all below, and the fine print on each item is on its page. The TL;DR is this: buy something you love from someone who loves our community, and your purchase supports NAAFA’s virtual events, The Fat Spotlight, the Campaign for Size Freedom, and more!

Join us Sunday, August 31st at 4pm Pacific for our Fat Liberation Month Wrap Party and virtual Auction Finale! Register today at naafa.org/events.  (You do not have to be present at the virtual event to win, but it will be a whole lot more fun if you are!)

Of course, the Fat Liberation Month Virtual Auction is not the only way to support our important fat rights and fat community work. You can make a tax-deductible donation to NAAFA any time of the year! Donate by August 31 and you’ll receive our limited edition Fat Liberation Month sticker by Dev the Pineapple. New members of the NAAFA POD – our Passionate Ongoing Donors group– will also get a special Fat Liberation Month thank you! 

How this auction works

The auction begins on August 15th and ends on August 31st at 4:50pm Pacific Time. Join us for our Fat Liberation Month Wrap Party & Virtual Auction Finale on August 31st at 4pm Pacific.

The auction is conducted via CharityEngine. You can browse items without logging in, but you must be logged into CharityEngine to bid on items. 

If you are already a NAAFA donor with a CharityEngine account, you can log in now and start bidding! Just click LOG IN at the top of this page. Your bids will default to the payment method you have on file. If you want to check on or change your payment method you can follow the instructions on the video here. (If you are a mobile user, click BID NOW for a drop-down menu, then choose UPDATE PAYMENT METHOD)

If you don’t already have a donor account on CharityEngine, you can easily create one. Choose SIGN UP on this page, then select CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT TO START BIDDING!. (If you are a mobile user, click BID NOW for a drop-down menu). (Detailed instructions can be found here.)

To view the auction items, click on BID NOW at the top of this page. This will bring up a grid of all auction items. If you’d like to see the specifics of the item, click on the photo. Remember, in order to bid on an item, you must be signed into your account. 

You can bid on an item by entering an individual bid one at a time or by entering a maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. If you enter a maximum amount, the system will auto-bid for you at the bidding increment for that item ($1, $5, or $10). 

When you bid, a pre-authorization hold in the amount of your bid will be placed on your payment method. You will not be charged unless you are the winner of the item when the auction closes.

You’ll be notified by email when you have been charged and by text if you have opted into texts from NAAFA.
